We were trying to think of something fun and affordable that parents could frame and put in their kid’s room (or the family room, or anywhere really) and came up with the kids’ personal poster.

The idea really came from when Owen was in preschool at a Montessori school. Every year on their birthday, the parents came into the classroom to celebrate with the child and their classmates. The parents were encouraged to bring in pictures of them at each year of their life and say a bit about what they were doing during that time. Kevin and I got totally into it, writing up what he was reading and playing with at each point in his (young) life, funny things he said. He loved the posters,  and wanted to hang them in his room.

So we thought, wouldn’t it be great to have not only the pictures (like most parents, we have gazillions) but snippets of their personality. It’s the sort of thing kids love and can keep forever.
